As per the report, 2.9 million PCs were shipped in this quarter and the maximum contribution to this was from notebooks that grew 62.1% YoY. The report suggests that the growth driver continues to be the demand from e-learning and remote working, leading to a 74.1% and 14.1% annual growth in the consumer and enterprise segments, respectively.
In the fourth quarter, Dell replaced HP for the top position in the overall PC market, as its shipments grew 57.1% YoY in the fourth quarter of 2020. HP landed on second position with a 26.7% share with 8.8% YoY in Q4 2020. At the third place, Lenovo stood at third position with share at 18.4% in 4Q20. Acer Group and Acer retained the fourth and fifth position with an 8.5% market share and 6.4% market share.
When it comes to overall performance in 2020, HP remained the leader for the full year of 2020. The company maintained its lead in the consumer segment as its shipments grew 47.3% from the same quarter a year ago. HO had a 28.7% market share at then end of the year. Dell stood at the second position with 23.2% market share and Lenovo had 21.7% market share, landing at position number 3. Acer Group and Asus landed at fourth and fifth place with 9.8% and 6.3% market share respectively.
