After what was an extensive delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Mercedes-Benz will finally launch the A-Class Limousine in the country on March 25. It will be the carmaker’s newest entry-level sedan for India, and will be a successor to the A-Class hatchback and CLA sedan here. Here’s more about what to expect from the A-Class Limousine:
On the outside, it’ll sport a nicely curved front fascia, wraparound LED headlamps and a minimalistic front grille. Despite the high roofline, it will be a proper five seater. A nicely sculpted rear bumper and trendy taillamps complete the sedan’s look.
The A-Class Limousine will be packed with features such as dual-screens with the latest MBUX infotainment system, Mercedes Me connected car tech, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, electronically adjustable seats with memory function and dual-zone automatic climate control. Seven airbags, a reversing camera, and lane keep assist will be some of the safety equipment on offer.
Under the hood, the A-Class Limousine will be powered by petrol and diesel engines. It will also be offered in the spicier AMG A35 trim, that will utilise a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine pushing 306PS and 400Nm, paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The AMG model will likely be a locally assembled model, which should make it the second locally assembled AMG model in the country.
It will likely be offered in a sole fully loaded Progressive Line variant, with prices likely to start at Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine to take on the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and the upcoming 2021 Audi A3.
